These programs provide people over 18 years of age who are unemployed or underemployed in Marion County or surrounding counties with the opportunity to access short-term training in high-demand industries. The Career Resource Center offers a variety of resources that can be downloaded to your computer and edited with your personal information. Additionally, the Center has a calendar of upcoming job fairs that you can attend.
The IUL's Preferred Employer Program is designed to help individuals who have successfully completed the IUL program get and retain employment by streamlining the application, selection and hiring process with local employers. Retention services will be provided to the preferred employer and participant once employment is secured. The IUL Training Works program is designed to provide the short-term training and support services necessary to further develop employability and job training skills in high-demand industrial sectors. All information sessions and workshops on new beginnings are held at the Indianapolis Urban League, 777 Indiana Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202. The Indianapolis Urban League's Community Access & Reintegration Effort (CARE) program is designed to make returning citizens return to the community with support to acquire and retain employment and reduce recidivism.
